What days are you closed?

We are closed from 11:00am Saturday’s, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Commencing in 2025 we will also be closed for Easter Saturday and up until 3pm on Easter Sunday (open between 3pm and 5pm for check ins and check outs)

When do you run inspections (book a visit)

We run inspections between: 8:30am and 10:30am each day.
Please ensure you call and make a booking as all inspections are by appointment only.

What happens if I arrive outside of office hours?

Out of hours surcharge (subject to availability and by appointment only) $50 per hour.

Should you happen to arrive outside of our set hours of oporation we reserve the right to apply an out of hours fee. If you know you are going to be late or if anything arises, please ensure you call us and let us know.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee availability for outside of hours check out.

Are there any additional fees I need to know about?

YOU SURE DO….

Peak periods are the Easter school holidays, June/July school holidays, September school holidays, and from the 20th of December through to the 10th of January.

Public holidays will also incur a $5 additional fee and a minimum 3 day stay over long weekends will be applied.

Arriving late: Arrive outside of the Check-in or Check-out hours – additional fees may apply – Please Refer to ‘What happens if I arrive outside of your office hour’

When can I call?

We are in the office and ready to take your call during the below days and time:
Sunday – Friday : 7:30am – 5pm
Saturday’s : 7:30am – 11:am

Do you look after special needs for my pet?

At Glasshouse Pet Retreat we cater for all your pets’ needs. We are highly experienced animal carers and can cater for elderly, disabled or special needs dogs or cats. Please just give us a call to discuss your needs.

How do I determine what size my dog falls under?

Below is a list of different breed sizes.

Small Dogs:
Chihuahua, Dachshund, Maltese, Bichon Frise, Highland Terrier, French Bulldog, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Pomeranian, Jack Russell, Corgi, Pug, Border Terrier, Fox Terrier, Schipperke.

Medium - Large Dogs:
Beagle, Staffy, Bulldog, Collie, Kelpie, Labrador, Retriever, Bassett Hound, Cattle Dog, Huskie, Vizla, Cocker Spaniel, Dalmatian, Schnauzer, Shar Pei, German Shepherd, Whippet, Greyhound, Akita, Boxer, Irish Setter, Labradoodle, Standard Poodle, Weimaraner, Lagotto, AmStaff.

Extra Large Dogs:
Great Dane, Malamute, Bernese Mountain Dog, Irish Wolfhound, Mastiff, Doberman, Rottweiler, Dogue de Bordeaux, English Pointer, Newfoundland, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Borzoi, Saint Bernard.

Why do you charge extra for entire or solo dogs?

Dogs which are entire (not de-sexed but are sexually mature) have to be fully segregated for the safety of all our dogs and our staff. This is also the case for any dog which is a solo dog (unsuitable to mix safely with any other dogs). Thank you for understanding that the welfare and safety of all our visiting dogs is our first concern.

Can my dog have a daily walk?

Select one of our all-inclusive packages if you would like your dog to have daily exercise.

What extra services do you offer?

For animals requiring medication, these can be administered for an additional charge of $2 per day. Tick collars are available to purchase when you check your dog in if they are staying for less than 5 days. You can pamper your dog with a Hydrobath for just $25. Additional specialist grooming services can be arranged on request. Please give us a call to book a special pamper treatment of your choice.

What payment methods do you accept?

Glasshouse Pet Retreat accepts direct deposit, credit card or cash when you deliver your pet for their stay. Direct deposit details are available on request and are listed on your invoice.

What is your refund policy?

Christmas bookings have a $100 deposit payable on booking. Prior to 1st December date you will receive a full refund with a charge of $25 for the office admin fee. After 1st December, the deposit is non-refundable.
